Welcome & Volunteer Form!

Welcome to the Sweet Home Middle School PTSA web page. The PTSA coordinates a number of events throughout the school year at the Middle School including activity nights, book fairs and special events.

For the next school year (2012-2013), we will be looking for new Board members to replace those who are moving up to the high school.
The Board meets once a month. If you have any interest, please contact any of the Board members (contact info is listed below). These are positions that need to be filled:
         
  • President
  • Vice President
  • Fundraising
  • Membership
  • Corresponding Secretary
  • Activities Director
For our upcoming Meeting on May 14, 2012, the PTSA guest speaker will be Sally Yageric.
Sally is the Parent Program Coordinator for the Erie County Council for the Prevention of Alcohol and Substance Abuse program. She will talk with parents about the dangers of alcohol and substance abuse. All are welcome!

Volunteers needed:
Academic All-Stars – May 29 & 31.
8th Grade Super Fun Day – June 8

The "Teacher Appreciation Luncheon" will not take place this year, as preciously scheduled on May 16, 2012, because the SHMS PTSA voted in favor of using the budgeted monies for the start-up costs of the Sweet Home Middle School, Summer Reading Program. The monies were given specifically in honor of all of the Sweet Home Middle Teachers and staff. We thank and appreciate each and every one of the teachers and staff at the Middle School, for all of their hard work and dedication, not only for the students, but for the whole community, as well.

Your membership dues help fund activities and events for the students.

The best way to join is to download the application on the website, complete and send it to school with your child along with a check (made out to Sweet Home Middle School PTSA - SHMS PTSA) or cash in the amount of $5.00. If your child would like to join the dues are $4.00.





2.)
PTSA is collecting Box Tops for Education labels. 

If you see them at the top of a box of cereal, or other grocery item, please cut off the Box Tops label and send them to school with your child.
    
The labels should be put in an envelope marked PTSA Box Tops for Education.
    
The PTSA turns these in and receives money which is used for projects to help out kids.
